Claudia Gomes SHOW REVIEW

Without St. Paul
My owner is loneliness
Say yes, I say no
Awake ..., California ...

Listen to the lyrics of this song, "St. Paul", fully Cultural Center in the heart of the metropolis, is a privilege that can offer the band Vega. It was a special night with many surprises and remarkable sound energy.

Invited to the opening of the show, Celso Cardoso (vocals) and Luiz Marcio (guitar) had known songs in versions sensitive and intimate, as is the case of "Beth Balance" (Red Baron), "We" (composition Tiao Carvalho, success of Cassia Eller) and "As" (Rolling Stones). They left the stage to vigorous applause.

Vega's concert band began with a great guitar solo by Mark Kleine, while the other musicians came on stage gradually. It took the presence of Claudia Gomes and "unconditionally" presented a group full of enthusiasm, great musicians and a sound with an ingredient hard to find today: originality.

Eclecticism is an essential component of the curriculum presents musicians who cultivated the whole experience so far, rock, pop and punk, among other styles. The group is a sound unit, but full of influences.

The choice of repertoire was especially happy, sought the balance between the two CDs of the band. "Flowers in the Desert," the title track from the debut, is an essential theme in the shows. "Hero," Novel High Season (Rede Record, 2007), is a great time on the album New Times, a song that deserves to be better publicized by the media.

The perfect medley "The Dream / World of Illusions" owes much to the interplay of the band's rhythm section, bassist and drummer Porridge Caio Mancini. "September" is undoubtedly one of the great compositions of the group, the sensitivity of Claudia in very creative verses: "And one can not drown my sorrows after they learn to swim."

"There Is More Like Back" is about the fear of changes in life, the unexpected and adversities, but you must go straight ahead, "No, there is no turning back / No, it's time to walk / No steps are difficult to give / No, the best is somewhere. " The sound follows the same idea, dynamic and exciting, a look toward the future.

The special guest Leo Sayer shared vocals with Claudia in "The Formula of Love" singer's partnership with Leoni and success of Kid Rock. It was much celebrated by the public.

When the band does Vega's version of a familiar tune, it is certain that a personal touch is added. Exactly what happens in "Rome Was not Built in a Day", the British band Morcheeba, another pleasant surprise in the repertoire, a vibrant swing. "Only Missing You Now" by Rita Lee, traverses the same path.

To finish in style, it is time to "Construction", by Chico Buarque. The band "deconstructed" the composition, but maintained its "foundations," he added creativity and weight, an amazing rock taken.

For Vega Band, each CD released is a new time, a time of change. And who has not discovered that Claudia Gomes is one of the best vocalists in Brazil today?
